cushman motor scooter
A Cushman motor scooter had its beginnings in 1901 and was founded by Everett Cushman and his cousin, Clinton. It started off as a farm engine company, but soon advanced with installing a motor onto a scooter, eventually creating the Cushman motor scooter.
Today, Cushman motor scooter offers only industrial-type vehicles, which are produced in Lincoln, Nebraska. Back in 1961, Cushman motors and Piaggio of Genoa, Italy, which manufactures Vespa scooters, came to an agreement to allow Cushman to import and sell Vespa through Cushman dealerships in the States.
Many dealers across America sold this popular scooter and had good success over the next 3 years. It is estimated that around 3,500 were sold. A Cushman motor scooter is more of a collector item today and they have a large following.
